Class Size: 6 ? 10 Students

In the course of 6 weeks, writers will learn the vital elements of plotting and structure and how to create stage-worthy dialogue. This course will provide you with skills to craft a dynamic individual scene and compelling characters for the stage. You will also learn how to uncover the central dramatic question along with the soul of your story.

About the Instructor:

Marni Freedman is a produced, published and award winning writer. After graduating as an award-winning student from USC School of Filmic Writing, Marni began her career with her play, ?Two Goldstein?s on Acid,? which was produced in L.A. She worked as a script doctor for top film companies and worked as an agent for Mary Sue Seymour Agency. One of her plays was made into a film, ?Playing Mona Lisa,? and was produced by Disney. Marni continued her education, receiving a masters in counseling and is a Licensed Therapist specializing in healing work with artist and writers. She has published articles in several magazines and online sites, worked as a ghost writer for a ?how to? series and is currently in demand working for TheWriterIn You as an editor and script doctor. Currently, around San Diego, you can find Marni teaching writing workshops at San Diego Writer Ink, UCSD Extension and running the popular San Diego Screenwriter?s group, The Writer?s Circle. She is writing her first book, 7 Steps to a First Draft to assist writers in creating their first draft at their highest level possible.
