?Park City, Utah?s High West Distillery is set to roll out a new Bourbon variant to its American Prairie Reserve whiskey brand. The new offering is a blend of six- and 10-year-old Bourbons and will sell for $39.99 a bottle, with 10% of proceeds donated to the American Prairie Reserve land-conservation effort in Montana. High West?s spirits?which include a range of whiskies such as 12-, 16- and 21-year-old ryes; Western Oat Silver whiskey; and 7000? vodka?are distributed in 35 states. Touted as ?the world?s only ski-in gastro-distillery,? High West was named whiskey?Pioneer of the Year? in 2011 by Whisky Advocate.
?Escondido, California-based?Stone Brewing Co. is embarking on a new freshness initiative with the launch of Stone Enjoy By 09.21.12 IPA. The program is initially rolling out in three markets, including New Jersey (Hunterdon Distributors), Chicago (Windy City Distributors) and Southern California (where Stone Brewing runs its own distribution network). Prominently featuring an expiration date within its name, the special release will be bottled, kegged and shipped and then immediately delivered to stores, restaurants and bars within a seven-day timeline. Starting the week of August 20, consumers will then have four weeks to purchase and drink Stone Enjoy By 09.21.12 IPA. Any beer remaining on the market by September 21 will be pulled from shelves and returned to distributors.
?Craft Brew Alliance?s Widmer Brothers Brewing has released the third and final expression in its Alchemy Project series, Old Embalmer ?12. The 10.2%-abv beer is a barleywine ale made with Bravo hops from Oregon?s Willamette Valley. Unlike the other offerings in the annual Alchemy series, Old Embalmer ?12 will feature a different hop varietal each year. Launched in 2011, the Alchemy Project is a high-end range of three vintage-dated craft beers that are intended to improve with age. Available in 22-ounce bottles and 1/6 barrels, Old Embalmer ?12 joins Barrel Aged Brrbon and the recently launched Raspberry Russian Imperial Stout in the specialty range.
